Building Change
Hands-On Work. Real Results.
In addition to welcoming volunteers to help with warehouse operations, we offer Building Change, a hands-on volunteer experience that brings teams together to build resources that strengthen our community. Participants work side-by-side to construct items such as picnic tables, raised garden beds, compost bins, and other outdoor amenities that are donated to local nonprofits, schools, community centers, parks, and neighborhood organizations.
More than just a service project, Building Change combines team building with community impact. We handle the planning, materials, tools, and instruction—your team simply shows up ready to work, collaborate, and make a difference.
Whether your group includes seasoned builders or complete beginners, our staff will guide participants through the process. By the end of the event, your team will have created tangible assets that local organizations can use for years to come.
What to Know Before You Register
Team Size
Groups of 10 to 50 are welcome. We work with you to match the right project to the size of your crew so every volunteer has something meaningful to do.
Cost
Up to 15 participants: $2,500
16–20 participants: $3,000
21–25 participants: $3,500
26–30 participants: $4,000

just show up
Magic City ToolBank supplies all necessary materials and tools for your project. Volunteers do not need to bring anything. Show up to the ToolBank ready to work, and we will have everything on site.
Time Commitment
Most Building Change projects run three hours on a Saturday morning. Scheduling is flexible and planned well in advance so your group can coordinate attendance without hassle.
